question everything: why organic food?

This article in the May 1 edition of British paper, the Independent (oh for the time when it was the killer punk among UK media!), should make many of us take a few steps back as we careen down the organic highway. And that, it seems, is exactly the problem: organic food production should be a method of subsistence farming, I feel, and not industrialized. A careful reading of this article seems to point to the same conclusion. So where do we go from here? Can this planet sustain the sheer numbers of humanity?
