Part of the Bicentennaire dsitrict, V de Dieu’s poulation resides on a growing landfill composed of Port Au Prince’s untreated effluence and sewage. This waste travels down one of five large sleuces designed to flush material into the sea. Tidal flows regularly deposit garbage on habitation sites.
