Looking At God
Looking At God opening @ Cheekwood, July 13 2007 – folio posted on site
These images are, at their most essential, not portraits. Even though they are photographs of faces, the images use the gaze as the trigger for an encounter. Rather than examine the more familiar discourse between sitter, photographer and viewer, the series, Looking At God, considers the limits of perception and that linear time is merely a notion.
Simplicity is a necessary part of the piece’s structure.First exhibited at Cheekwood Museum and Botanical Gardens, Nashville.
